Originally by: Zeb Carter It seems to me that you are all going through a lot more trouble than is necessary. I use an ATI card, but it should be the same for nVidia.
First off, 1 video card (Radeon 9700 pro). 2 monitors (17" and 19"). I run my accounts all from the same installation.
For the secondary monitor, load up eve, hit escape and go to the graphical options, there should be a dropdown box with two options. In my case those options are Radeon 9700 Pro and Radeon 9700 Pro (Secondary). Select secondary, and exit the menu. Drag that window over to the second monitor, and it will work smooth as a babies bottom. Then just open up your other account, and you're set.
If you do it from the same installation eve will automatically remember the settings for each account. Since my monitors are different sizes I use 1024 for the secondary and 1152 for the primary. When I sign onto acct one it opens in 1152, when I sign onto acct 2 it opens in 1024 and all I have to do to be ready to play is just drag its window onto the secondary monitor.
I know I typed a lot, but really there is not much work to it. Just switch the option to secondary, drag the window over and you're done. Don't have to fool with it anymore.
exactly correct mate thats what you have to do, just a few points in addition to the above. I have had dual gfx cards running the game in SLi mode but SLi does not support a dual monitor setup, so I removed one of the cards. Having a single gainward GLH 6600gt in I could not no matter what drivers I use get the option in the graphics settings to allocate the game to the second monitor, it just showed two instances of 6600gt (no secondary in brackets next to either entry).
So what I did was simply buy a new x850PE and it worked like it had done in my old 9800xt days - perfectly, UNTIL the new patch! Now although I have assigned one of the characters to the secondary monitor it slows my game play down a lot, closing the second account makes the primary char in primary monitor run smoothly. I am currently downloading the latest ati drivers to see if this helps.
